University of Applied Sciences Studies in Varia

Students of Varia have the opportunity to study at a university of applied sciences level already during their vocational education studies in collaboration with Haaga-Helia, Laurea or Metropolia.

Introduction

Students of Varia have the opportunity to study at a university of applied sciences level already during their vocational education studies. University of applied sciences courses can be studied in collaboration with Haaga-Helia, Laurea or Metropolia. It is possible to start UAS studies with 'pathway studies' or 'peek courses'.

Pathway studies offer the option to study courses from a suitable Bachelor's degree. The studies completed will be transferred into the subsequent Bachelor's degree in
a UAS.

Peek courses introduce students to university of applied sciences studies and the skills needed to study. Peek courses offer the opportunity for upper secondary-level education students to test out higher-level courses. The studies completed will be transferred into the subsequent Bachelor's degree in a UAS.

Laurea University of Applied Sciences

Students at Varia have the opportunity to complete some studies at Laurea University of Applied Sciences.

Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences

Students in the English-speaking restaurant and catering sector at Varia have the opportunity to complete 60 credits of pathway studies in their own field. The studies are transferred into the Bachelor of Hospitality Management (restonomi AMK) degree.

The pathway studies are completed during the last year of studies at Haaga-Helia UAS.

Metropolia University of Applied Sciences

Varia's electrical engineering students have the opportunity to choose Metropolia pathway studies. The aim of the cooperation between Varia and Metropolia UAS is to expedite the overall studies of the vocational qualifications degree and Bachelor's degrees by eliminating overlaps between the two degrees.

The goal is to complete approximately 30 credits through the pathway studies. The studies completed per the UAS requirement will be transferred when the studies are later continued at Metropolia. Applications for further studies are made through a joint application or the Open UAS.

The pathway studies for university of applied sciences are chosen at the beginning of the studies as part of the personal development plan (HOKS). If your study goals change, the plan can also be modified.
