Vantaa Vocational College Varia and Lumo general upper secondary education employs youth workers who act as safe adults in the schools' everyday life. Youth workers organise activities for both individuals and small…groups as well as activities that reinforce the sense of community. The aim of the service is to support the overall well-being and learning of young people. Youth workers cooperate with school and educational institution personnel, pupil/student welfare services and other operators.

Youth workers support young people in achieving their learning goals, but also provide casual counselling on issues that concern them. These youth workers are well equipped to direct young people to the necessary services if other services are needed in addition to the standard tools of youth work.

Students can meet the youth workers of Vantaa Vocational College Varia and Lumo general upper secondary education in school corridors, break rooms and workrooms. Youth workers in educational institutions reach out to students in school corridors, classrooms and workrooms and organise a wide range of recreational and leisure activities. Working with a youth worker in educational institutions is completely voluntary. If necessary, you can make an appointment with a youth worker.
