Knowhow and involvement – children and the young to participate in making more sustainable food culture
The goal of the project is to increase eating percentages while simultaneously diminishing Meal Services’ carbon footprint, as well as to teach children and the young the principles of sustainable lifestyles.
Compulsory education
Compulsory education will end when a young person has their 18th birthday, or when they have completed an upper secondary education degree (matriculation examination or vocational degree) before their 18th birthday.
TUVA education
TUVA education combined previous additional basic education (10th grade), preparatory education for general upper secondary education (LUVA) and preparatory education for basic vocational education (VALMA).
Apprenticeship training
Both young people and adults can take vocational studies through an apprenticeship. The students prove their competence at the workplace over the course of their training. Vantaa Vocational College Varia's working life services organise apprenticeship training.

The matriculation examination is an upper secondary degree that aims to strengthen transversal general competence. To obtain this degree, upper secondary schools organise matriculation examinations twice a year.
